My first fashion blog. This is going to be the first of many that I will be putting out. I will be writing on future trends, current trends, trends that have stuck around too long. Also I plan to write about what people wear and why they wear it and style tips that I believe can take your normal day “get-up” to something a little less normal.
Now keep in mind these are my thoughts /opinions and many people probably won’t agree, but if you are one of those people, keep on reading you might find something you like. These thoughts are also random and as I see something or think of something, I’m going to write.
To me fashion is about expressing yourself. It’s not about how expensive you outfit is, it’s about how you wear it. Too many people confuse “in style” with “having style”. Just because you buy a shirt at your local mall doesn’t mean you’re cool. Try buying that $100 trendy tee and wear it completely tucked in with belt loops showing on your creased up chinos. That’s like buying the $10,000 spinners and putting them on a Pinto. Now I’m not going to tell you to buy a $100 tee, cuz I feel you can make a $5 tee look just as good depending on how/what you wear it with.
Right now tees are such an easy, comfortable, inexpensive item that can be worn with pretty much anything. You will very seldom catch me in something besides a tee. However I wear my tees with all sorts of accessories that spice them up. My personal favorite at the moment is adding a tie to a tee. The catch is either the tee or the tie needs to be plain. You can’t have a busy tee and a busy tie. Also I prefer v-necks with ties, but crews are fine. Females are lucky. Along with tees, just throw on a beater or a racer-back tank with a tie.
As far as the bottoms go, denim of any sort will work. I like to cut up my old jeans and make them in to shorts. This is okay to do. PLEASE don’t wear denim shorts that are hemmed with the carpenter loop. During the night time jeans are appropriate. Shoes to me are the make or break accessory to an outfit. Don’t be that guy that has the whole “get-up” together and then throws on your all black shiny shoes or even you all white eggshells that happen to share their name with a K-cheese.
Another thing that is easy to do that can add a lil something to your entire appearance is to jazz up you wrist (both wrist). To start, stop wearing your shiny aluminum foil watch with EVERYTHING. There is a time and place to wear that “old dinosaur bone” and with tees and shorts, it’s neither. Grab yourself some old shoe strings, jellies, dog-tag chains, rubber bands, bandana’s and wrap it around and tie. Act as if your wrists are getting cold and they need to be covered. Don’t go overboard though and look like you belong at the teenage gothic convention.

Jonnys words of wisdom:
I recently spoke with a person very close to me this week about the wonderful subject of FASHION/TRENDS.
(No this was not with a buddy of mine nor partner in company or anyone who for the most part even remotely tied to this industry).
We both voiced our opinions on what we thought the fashion trends were and what we think is "hot" at the moment. As the conversation went on i started to realize how much of a hypocrite i can be when it comes to me speaking with someone not in the industry. Before my conversation with her about this i would often make fun of certain "common" wardrobes in my head when passing by or maybe even make a smart remark to a friend or business partner of mine.
Now i got in this business for one reason and thats for the love of fashion/art and beable to have the chance to express that in details of what i think is trendy or comfortable to me and what i like to wear without having 1000 other people walk by you in same shirt.
She then more or less gave me some of the best advice and outlooks ive received in a long time. She says fashion is about being comfortable and expressing that art in a positive energy because your proud of what your wearing right? Ithen reply and say of course. She then says to me.....well if the person is wearing what he HONESTLY feels comfortable in and not wearing because he/she saw there favorite celeb wear it then who are you to judge khakis versus your custom pants? I paused......and as much as i wanted to stick to my guns about what i think is really more hip or fashionable...she was right. I am my own biggest hypocrite. For god sake i have a shirt we sell that is against all those people who say one thing and do another.
Fashion has many categories.....all are trendy for the most part and all represent that person. So being a little close minded lately i am making a pact to myself to be open minded more and if he wants to wear the khakis and he feels confident in them and actually wears them because he likes them....well good on him/her. Im all about feeling good and wearing something you like. No more judging for me if you are your own person and are proud of what you wear and most of all comfortable. Im just gona make fun of my own kind and keep them in check. haha
