Paparazzi

OK, I have been wanting to blog on this for a while. PAPARAZZI.
It seems that Americans are obsessed with celebs. Personally I
have not sat down and watched an episode of TMZ. I have seen
bits of it and if you watch it, there is nothing wrong with that.
Last month while I was in LA for a visit, I went to a club with
some friends. As the club was closing, I was standing outside
and there was about 20-30 photographers waiting outside the
club next door. About 3 minutes later Paris Hilton walks out with
her new "BFF". The paparazzi followed her up the block like a starving
dog would follow a piece of meat. While I do find that sick, I still
have no problem with it.

Today in the news a report came out about Brad Pitt saying he is
"fed up" with the Paparazzi. The channel that this report was on is a
channel that allows people to call in and comment. There was a
woman that called in and made a comment that I have heard many
times. The comment was "He signed up for it so I see no problem
with it. If he doesn't want to deal with it, then he should
go out and get a 9 to 5 job." This comment is where my problem
lies. Is she fucking serious???

Before you agree with this ignorant lady, please let me explain.
Answer me this, When did he "sign" up for it? Was it when he had
a dream that he wasn't to scared to go for? Was it when he was
a struggling actor trying to make a career doing what he loved? I didn't realize
there was choice that one has to make when deciding whether they
should follow there dream and try to become successful OR work
a 9 to 5.

Maybe when our kids watch sports and say, "dad, I wanna
grow up and play in the NBA" we should reply, "well hunny you
have to sign up to have paparazzi break into property and take
pictures of your kids if you wanna play in the NBA."

Or maybe if we have a talent of singing but still work 9-5 at Burger
King and American Idol auditions come through, we should say to
ourselves, "I don't really want my kids privacy violated so I
won't try out. I'll just continue to work my 9-5 at Burger King."

Now if you are out in public take all the photos you want. That
is going to happen. Some people's fame gets bigger from this
non-sense. I don't think Brad would have a problem if he is at
a bar and people are taking pictures of him. However I do not think
anyone deserves people sneaking on to private property to take
pictures of them regardless how successful they are at a career
they love.
